That was my first exposure to Billy Connolly, but the show was running on fumes at that point. Plus the one guy went on to be that extremely sketchy producer at Nickelodeon...

OTOH, another castmember went on to be the guy who runs Nickelodeon, but without creepy overtones.

You're talking the greaser dude? Are we sure there's nothing sketchy about him? I always kind of assumed Robbins was low-key enabling Schneider.

Same here. I also watched his many appearances on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Idk anything outside of that, tho. I googled him & he apparently retired from show biz last decade after being diagnosed with Parkinsons. Still looks sharp at 80!

Some of his jokes on the show did not age well, given the accusations.

If you're the person who posted about season 4 a while back, you may recall I said season 5 was worth watching if you enjoy Billy Connolly, because the writers wrote in a reason for Billy to do an extended Billy bit every episode.

I wasn't lying, was I?

Billy being Billy makes the season watchable.

Yes, that was me! I sporadically drudged thru S4. There were weird, slightly edited lost episodes (?) with the old cast in S4. I had to stop & google cuz that hurt my brain. It was good to see Leslie Bega again tho 😍

And you were right about Billy. I may even check the canceled spin-off, just because it's Billy!

I saw some reruns a while back and was surprised that Janice, the younger kid, had left the show and Ke Huy Quan was a student. Didn't remember that at all.

I didn't know Michael DeLorenzo was on the show. I knew of him later on from New York Undercover. And his characters' last names on both shows was TĂłrres, weirdly enough.

Young kid me has a crush on Janice back then. Tannis Vallely, who played her, went on to work in the casting aspect of the industry and actually appeared in a photo of herself in an episode of “Arrested Development,” which she worked on.

Brian Robbins (Eric, the leather-jacketed rebel) became a producer later on. I remember him scouting my old high school for a TV project he was working on that was supposed to be “Bruce Wayne’s life as a high school student before he became Batman.” That didn’t work out (rights issues, I suppose), but he did wind up doing a similar show: one about Clark Kent’s high school years before he became Superman (they of course couldn’t use my old school anymore). You may know it from when it ran for a while on the WB/CW Network.

Wait, a post in r/television that isn't asking if one of the most popular and/or talked about shows in the last 5 years is good?

Season 5 was surprisingly good! I wish Mr. Moore showed up to graduation. Also, Seasons 4 & 5 encompass senior year.

One weird thing from that show was for years I thought Eric the fake Fonzie from Head of the Class and Jesse's New York asshole brother Eric on Saved by the Bell were played by the same guy but they're not!

I haven’t checked in the guy who played Dennis in a while but I hope he has had a nice positive life that doesn’t involve traumatizing and destroying young girls lives or anything weird. He seemed like a cool guy
