You mean the shows and movies where a lot of men went on line and complained about the show or movie being for women and not men and rating bombed it?

What is shocking is that the men who devoted weeks of their lives to attacking those shows and movies did not claim credit for it afterwards and instead acted like they were on vacation that whole time.

That’s nice, but I’d recommend focusing on having quality writing and a compelling storyline first: Maybe spend more time with your hands occupied on a keyboard working instead of already pointing fingers at the people they’re going to blame beforehand for its inevitable failure to not get picked up for a full season.

You cannot rely solely on race/gender swapping gimmicks to get eyeballs on your content. While having great writing isn’t a guarantee of success (many great shows have failed), at least the show will be respected instead of forgotten.

Having a noted history, especially the past several years, of producing complete L’s gives me more than enough justification. They have to build that trust back up if they want to pull more people in.

Start reading the industry rags, pal. A recession more or less is coming down the pipeline, and everybody is going to get squeezed. Animation, due to how long it takes to produce, was only the tip of the iceberg.

It‘s called showBUSINESS for a reason, and the incredibly funny thing is: For how much you’re defending this program, I highly doubt you’re planning on even watching it.

Friend, there is an unbelievable amount of content out there: From networks, streaming services, YouTube, podcasts, books, music, etc. This crappy random network series is not a hill you need to die on.

And as for "problematic"? Inflation, disease, poverty, censorship, rising fascism: Those are examples of problems. Arguing with someone on the internet for their opinion on a television series is the definition of privileged, as I fully acknowledge from my end.

The original was almost 50 years ago, and while beloved, it had some mildly successful (though widely panned) sequels, as well as an awful series. (Full disclosure, the second is my favorite. The "Let them play" scene is an all-time heartwarming moment in movie history).

The Billy Bob Thornton remake got okay ratings, but barely broke even (which, in Hollywood, means it lost a fortune).

I just have so many questions...

Who is going to be the target audience for this one? Will men tune in for a drunken woman hitting and yelling at kids? Will women? Will they even go that route? Will they be able to draw in fans of the original, or do they even care? Will they be able to bring in new fans (Something Game Changers seems to have failed at)?

If the show ever gets made, as a huge fan of the original, I'll give it a couple episodes, but it just feels like every single road is leading towards this being a huge bust.
