What are your thoughts?
Netflix pumps out 1-2 season mini series. Hulu has some excellent classic series, even if their originals aren't as good as Netflix's (except for Only murders, that was great!!).
This is really the answer if it’s doable. They both offer a widely different library, even in animation and original content. I enjoy both tbh

I’m not going to state an opinion just yet, but you have to point out that a good deal of Hulu’s good stuff is technically from FX, and I don’t believe that should count. (Fargo, Reservation Dogs, The Bear, etc) Take that out of the equation, and your result may be affected.
Why it shouldn't count? They both belong to the same corporation (Disney). They have a deal where FX is the producer but distrubition is solely by Hulu and you can't watch them on regular FX (Devs, Reservation Dogs, The Bear). If you can watch them on Hulu, they count.
This is true. But FX does have great shows. I'm just looking at it from a consumer perspective looking for something to watch, I don't care who first produced it.
Then it shouldn’t necessarily be based on OG content, but for what is licensed out. Both have some pretty banger content that fill my watch-list. But again, it’s too late in the evening to weigh it all out: I would imagine Netflix will in fact lose quite a bit of licensed content within a few years based on the timeline of these contracts, while Hulu only has content to gain (due to what Disney holds)
So it may very well be Netflix now, but Hulu overall considering the future.
Netflix's top tier are usually great. But they also churn out nonsense.
Hulu has a great track record even if it is smaller. Their comedy/dramedies (Rez Dogs, Pen15, Ramy) are fantastic. And Mrs. America and Devs were two of my biggest highlights of 2020.
For me it's Hulu
Hulu’s main benefit is FX, and having Abbott Elementary isn’t bad, but their movie selection is skimpy. Netflix has more recognizable flagship shows like Stranger Things and Cobra Kai, and has a lot of movie options though it’s more quantity than a quality.
If you haven’t seen FX stuff like It’s Always Sunny, Fargo, The Shield, Atlanta, Justified, and The Americans you’ll have options to dig back into with Hulu, and newer shows like The Bear and Reservation Dogs are getting a lot of love, and when they do put out movies like Prey and Palm Springs they’re pretty good.

I have both because I'm into wildly different things and they both fill a niche that I like. I love some of Netflix's originals and international programming, but I have issues with their uncanny ability to cancel shows that I actually like (looking at you, Sense8). Fortunately, my cellular carrier pays for Netflix for now, so we just..have it.
Hulu's very hit-or-miss on original content, though. Some of it is really well done and others...miss the mark. I love their horror because some of it is unique and fresh even if it doesn't have the production values I crave. Though Hellraiser was pretty damn fun, I thought.
I find myself gravitating toward Netflix first when I want to watch something because it seems like when I get into that mood, there's always a new international show or movie I hadn't seen yet or needed to finish. Hulu, I only have a handful of shows on "my list" and don't browse nearly as often or as long before I find something.
I think it really depends on the consumer, tbh. If they prefer original programming with high production values, then Netflix is for them. If they prefer easy access to missed TV eps, past shows from FX and other channels, or some of the reality competition shows, then Hulu's pretty golden. If you like horror and aren't too keen on Shudder's catalogue, then Hulu's got some bangers.
So...yeah, both.

Netflix, and it's no contest whatsoever. Hulu has a few great shows, but Netflix has probably over 10 times as many great shows as Hulu does.
Interesting. Have a hard time finding things I like on Netflix. When I do it's a small mini series. Nothing long enough to drag out for a few weeks.
