You expect this show to portray a message of progressiveness, I think it's just a bit of fun nonsense, I don't care about its message like I don't care about historical accuracy.

I explicitly said that it's okay to just hate the idea of them and to stop watching because of it, but it means you don't have the full knowledge of how the show handled their relationship.
