OK. I wasn't sure about it. Well in that case, I'd modify my picture in Photoshop to have a higher contrast between my head and the background. Then, I'd use my portable printer to print it.

I don't know about in the US, but here the photograph must be professionally taken and stamped with the business name/date on the back

That's not the case in the US, but the requirements about the image composition are pretty exact.

That sucks. Anyway, in Italy there is no such rule as far as I know.
