Obligatory this happened years ago but I was just reminded of it.
The first thing you need to know is that I love all things vampire, and the True Blood shows and books are among my favorites. The second thing you need to know was at the time I had married into a conservative Baptist family.
I was out shopping with my at-the-time father-in-law (I’ve since divorced). We were in the car, in the parking lot at Best Buy. He had just parked the car, and I went to grab my purse off the floorboard when my phone got a text.
“Ring ring Hooker, ring ring” in the voice of Nelsan Ellis as the fabulous Lafayette Reynolds, one of my favorite characters.
My FIL just turns and stares at me for a second like “did that say what I think it did?” I’m sure my red face confirmed.
We both got out of the car. I immediately silenced my phone.
We never spoke of it, but later when I was pregnant with their grandson, my MIL tried to make me get rid of my True Blood collection. Jokes on her, I kept it and it got bigger.
TLDR: my phone went off with an inappropriate text tone in front of my very conservative, Christian father-in-law. He did not approve.

I was reminded of this because my fiancé just showed me a clip of the AIDS burger scene on TikTok. He immediately followed by repeating text tone line.
