Speaking of the Fisherman's Wife. Something I find even weirder than this painting is the fact that Picasso was fascinated with it and painted his own version of that painting, Dona i Pop

Uh uh. The weirdest thing about Tako to Ama (Octopus and the Pearl Diver) is that it is part of a 90-page epic by legendary Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, who also painted Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, including the iconic The Great Wave off Kanagawa.

It would be like having Monet paint the plates for an illustrated 120 Days of Sodom.
