No, however the stereotype of the rich doctor comes from American doctors. Most doctors really don't make a lot. I know docs who live with their parents while working as a surgeon. You have to keep in mind med school costs a lot of money so even if you are making money you're still most likely in debt. You also don't make as much being a resident and you have to pay a certain patient insurance if I'm not mistaken. And besides that, in most places you just don't make that much money.
