4.49 a gallon charged on a recent delivery by AmeriGas. Is this some error or is anyone else getting charged the same?

Call, I just posted this past weekend about $4.49 a gallon with Suburban. They just lowered the bill to 3.45 after I called to question. Good luck.
Great to know! What did you say to get them to lower it?
I just said that I looked at this site national propane pricing and we paid way too much. She said she would talk to her manager and two hours later called me back to lower the price. I was expecting more of a fight.
Fred's Energy 3.29 last week
If you can, join Hilltop Energy next summer. The group rates Keith negotiates with Amerigas are far better. I just had my tank filled by Amerigas for $2.92. He also negotiates with Irving to get lower prices.
In my experience in the 30 years we've owned our home, every company raises prices to absurd levels, especially if they consider you low-use, which we are. We were paying $5 a gallon with Suburban and every company we called (Franklin/Chittenden County) said they couldn't do better.
When we came across Hilltop and switched. We haven't paid over $3 since, still while low-use. We've been with Amerigas since and are on autofill. It's on them if they don't fill us in time, and though it's gotten to 5% once, when we called customer service to say we were awfully low and the delivery still hadn't happened, someone was out that same night. Customer service has been great for us.
Seconding Hilltop, saves me so much money!
3rd for Hilltop
It’s not just you—4.80+ on a bill I just got. Sheesh!
Also AmeriGas?
the feds have data on market prices, including history.
It's not just you... you may have heard something about a major war going on.
Sure have! I had a delivery last month that was priced over a whole dollar less one month ago.
You are lucky I just got a bill at 4.99
Pattersons, $3.10 today, up until today it was $3.01 for 1-2 months. Thankfully we only have it for hot water and heat the house with wood.
Get off amerigas. I went to blue flame and my price is 2.49. We use a lot of propane sadly, so I really felt the change.
When was the last time you got a delivery?
Like a few weeks ago. I can find a bill tomorrow I’ll send it to you. I also have a contact for you who’s amazing in regards to service. Also, not sure if you care about this but I like knowing they’re close (as opposed to a national chain). If something goes wrong they down the block kinda
Seriously can you send me that contact
You mind sending me a dm? I don’t want to dox him on Reddit
Superior plus does a pre buy season coming up in the spring. Last year we locked in at 2.94. Not sure this years lock in will be as good but staying hopeful. Worth giving them a call even though they aren’t a Vermont company they still supply and service here.
Amerigas has always been a rip. $3.29 with Fred's.
I just got a re-fuel from Amerigas on Monday for 3.119 a gallon, I think you should call them and complain
Just got a delivery on the 13th from Cotas. 2.69 a gallon.
I pay less filling my own tank at the hardware store!
$2.64 (delivery on the 15th) from OnSite Propane out of Cambridge
Ditch AmeriGas and go local. Last winter I was on Rymes with similar highway robbery prices. I was beside myself. I just checked my last fill-up with Gillespie on the 14th: $1.66 a gallon. Some of that is I purchased my own tank last summer when I switched so I get an owned-tank discount which is not insignificant. It's about 5 grand (depending on the tank size and the cost of burying if you are like me and want it out of sight) to do that, my calculated payoff with my propane usage was only a few years, and they last 30-50 before they need replacing.

Second the advice to get rid of Amerigas. If for no other reason than they NO LONGER SERVICE PROPANE APPLIANCES. You will be absolutely screwed when you need any maintenance or repairs. We swapped to Blanchard’s (locally owned) to have access to their servicemen. Amerigas has crap customer service. Switch before you’re in a bind.
