Plattsburgh NY is the correct answer.

Plattsburgh, NY. Unfortunately, some of the best places to get them are only open in the summer (i.e. Clare & Carl’s), but right now you can get decent ones at Gus’ Red Hots or McSweeney’s.

Those are the the only two places to go if it's not summer. Coincidentally, both are closest to the ferry!

Apollo's in Davison, MI. Best you will ever have. That being said, surprisingly, the hot dog stand at Home Depot in Williston has a good Michigan dog. Still Smokin' in Essex Jct. is pretty good too.

Ok as a Michigan native and Coney Island connoisseur, I gotta ask, what's a Michigan dog in this context?

Too late, Charlie's Redhots in Colchester closed sometime ago. They were the Best. Really miss them. My wife has a recipe that is close but no not really.

Sebs in south hero does a decent job but they're closed for the season too.

You can get some pretty good red hots from besserys butcher on north avenue

I've had them recently at McGillicuddy's. Not better than I can make at home, but it's convenient.
