I know I can take it to CSWD, but wondering if there are some tech centers or schools that can use some old laptops, PC parts, smartphones? I travel most of the northern half of VT so willing to drop off.

Most equipment is 2000s era stuff. Think there's a pocket pc in there and a couple blackberrys, bunch of samsung smartphones. Also some power supplies and motherboards, old ram components, CD drives. Some old PC cases

Honestly no idea if any of it is useful to anyone, but figured I should try before recycling it all

Anything more than 10 years old is pretty useless.

Unfortunately changes in Recycling policy ~10 years ago caused a lot of the smaller sites that dealt with this to shut down.

Resource VT might still take donations? ( Burlington & Williston)

Public Schools at this point are fairly unlikely to take non-commercial donations of computer hardware due to the headaches related in maintenance and refurbishments.

Schools don't need old tech. Maybe a school that repairs tech for, practice.

This is what I figured. Better to practice the basics on old stuff like this.

Get in touch with this company https://goodpointrecycling.net They’re the largest e-cycle company in the north east, based in Middlebury. They work with companies to recycle their electronics, but may be able to give you guidance (I believe they also have drop off locations).
