Nichols Ledge is a very short and easy hike. If you and your car will be equipped for some snow. Just be sure to approach from the south unless you want to do some bumpy off roading before you pop the question.

That area can be steep and slippery. Might be unsafe in winter for those unfamiliar.

This is true. Depends on their experience level and inclination for adventure. A lot of paved road lakes are better for an easy photo setup and a hassle-free day. But if OP is up for it this is certainly a breathtaking proposal spot that will probably be empty.

Came here to say all of this. Nichols Ledge is the most spectacular spot around. DO NOT APPROACH FROM THE NORTH it’s a snowmobile trail at that time of year. The parking lot for Nichols is where the plow turns around.
