Some estimates indicate somewhere around 20% of people with bipolar die by suicide and roughly 50% will attempt it in their lifetime. His recent erratic behaviour has all the hallmarks of a manic episode. This guy is systematically destroying any social support structure he might have had and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s doing it purposefully. Couple that with the public intense scrutiny (rightly) he’s facing for the increasingly stupid and wilfully insulting things he’s saying and the near instant erasure of a huge part of his fortune, he’s going to find himself staring into the abyss when that depressive downswing inevitably rolls back around. He is in serious need of professional mental health support.
