What in the world is going on with Ford (F)

Fellow investors - What are your current thoughts on Ford Company - Are we bullish or bearish?

It seemed they were doing well but every time I turn around these days in negative EV news for the company. do they continue this downward trajectory or does the ship right itself and they see higher teens

There’s no meaningful growth.. every EV they sell is one less ICE they sell, and with Kia making arguably better vehicles for less I’d say they’re losing sales to others too.

They’ll be smaller 10 years from now for sure, if not bought out by someone else and stripped for parts.

To be fair, but honestly think ford is one of the few legacy makers actually doing well. Hyundai Kia and VW as well

I bought Ford when they were hovering in the $4 area....my 1 good pick....anyway...

I get alerts on F when the price moves more than 3%.....and it has been bouncing a lot lately...not enough for me to put away the viagra...but some of you mouth breathers could get in the action...like on Monday when it dropped 5.35% to $12.2.

my advice, get your hands out each other's shorts and buy a winner when it's losing.

Aren't car prices spiked, and have high interest rates on the loans? Isn't there a surplus of cars sitting on a lot waiting for cpus? Doesn't that mean there will be a huge price cut when the glut of vehicles get cpus?

Once they sort the kinks out i have a good feeling they will dominate the EV pickup space. They are the first real ev pickups to come to market (i dont count rivian because they only make luxury trucks right now which is getting more and more crowded. The lightning will be the most bought ev pickup in america just like how the f150 is the most bought pickup in america. The lightning is a great truck and once its teething issue are through they will sell record amounts. Never count ford out.

Once a company starts a dividend and the big retirement funds pick it up they can’t stop it. If they halted the dividend and institutional investors (code word for municipal retirement funds) dump the stock it crashes hard.

Ford can't stop having crippling internal issues. CEO said himself they left '2 billion profit on the table' due to QC problems. GM uses the same transmissions for example but isn't having mass failures since they didn't use the cheap parts. They have the demand but they just keep fumbling on scaling.

I wouldn't buy any automaker really but if I had to pick it'd be GM

Seems to be in a descending triangle, which is not a good sign.

I bought F for very cheap three years ago, but missed the opportunity to sell it at the top of the EV hype bubble. Waited too long and didn't make as much as I could have.

I wouldn't buy it now. Ford always struggles to execute, and even they when design decent cars, they can't deliver on QC.

There are only 3 heavy duty pickup manufacturers. They have all had problems. Ford has shorted the market a couple hundred thousand units the past couple years and it’s going to take a long time to make that up. Those trucks waiting for parts are mostly sold and are a small dent in pent up demand.

Okay but how do you know they are mostly sold, sold to who? Customers or dealers? If it's dealers I would say it is still an issue, if it was direct customers yeah Okay. Most cars are bought on credit, are these people paying for cars they don't have, or maybe by the time they can get the vehicle they can no longer afford the loan because of the high interest?

Sold is probably a bad word choice, claimed might be better. I waited over six months for my 2021 Super Duty. It sat in a parking lot waiting for parts for 4 months. I needed that truck and was calling around to dealers. Every truck was claimed before it hit the lot.

I now need a different truck and have been looking. Need an F350 dually? Expect to pay close to MSRP for one out of warranty. Also there are only about 20 listings nationwide.

I’m looking while traveling and there are more trucks on lots than there were at the start of Covid, but the market is still hot. It’s easier to get a truck than it was but only because dealers are still listing $10k over MSRP and the interest rates are high. Lots of truck owners need them for work. They can put off replacing them for a while, but not forever.

I truly do believe they will dominate the EV market in 2-3 years. I believe that because the EV 150 truck looks like a real truck, not some tin can looking mars rover looking thing. The F series truck has been the best selling vehicle in the US for decades now, so it makes since the F150 loyalist will try the new EV truck.
