Why would I use Google or Microsoft’s AI which are constantly being improved by thousands of devs when I can just spend $85k to run one on my home computer and it will be obsolete in 3 months?
If that was true then why did a dude make it possible to run these LLMs using your regular ass cpu in like a weekend. Who's to say it won't be done for much larger models?
You have SQQQ in your portfolio don’t you 😂
This is gay
So where are you in your transition? Are you taking hormones yet? Do you plan to have surgery done?
Pls share portfolio so I can inverse and retire in a month
You don’t know fuck about shit, bud
Every so often the IT industry gets something new that will "OMG change everything". We already had Java, Scala, Python, Agile, Pentium IV with its unlimited GHz, raytracing and dozens of other overhyped things. And what? Nothing. In the end all the old things are still there, and the new hyped stuff either falls into obscurity or just becomes another ordinary tool among thousands we already have. So no, nothing will change.
TLDR: I will believe it when it happens. Until then I'm back to programming in 51 years old C programming language.
Google can go to zero... right after they pay NLST.
Immature position. Yes you can build your own, because you want it to use your private data for learning. That is a real thing. Create your own personal assistant with access to your private data ensuring no one else can get to it. But, that $85k of hardware is very limited and will need management and upgrading to grow. That is where the cloud service is way better. Plus, if it is important enough to build your own you also need to secure it. Good luck there.

Is the NSFW disclaimer the daily life of a bear? Jesus
Good thing I don’t work and will not be working in an industry that can be replaced by AI
This sounds like a bad thing for Google and a great thing for the people of the world. For the uninvested, sounds good

You’re completely glossing over the fact that while current AI models are interesting and new, the ultimate form of their use will require hardware that largely hasn’t been invented yet and will need to be produced on a large scale. You are essentially saying McDonalds should have gone to zero people because learned they could bake their own bread and slaughter their own cows during Covid and💡unfortunately McDonalds can’t copyright hamburgers…
