Smartphones overall are unexcitingly good across the board these days. I don't think the hype on smartphones will ever reignite. Every year passing by, smartphones become less of a cutting edge toy from the future that has incredible and unimaginable new features. Every year, smartphones become a tool we both need to connect to the world and are expected to own whether we like it or not. It's just incrementally better models that all look the same every year.

Honestly the most exciting thing for me about getting a new phone these days is that the battery might actually last a whole day.

That was a thing on non-flsgship models for a while now. They finally became a mainstream requirement. Feels like we're playing blues' clues with the design committee at this point.
