Now I realize this chart is likely too complex for all you Apes who can't read anything other than your $420.69 Robinhood portfolio, so I'll use small words.
The chart below is Truckload Volume (demand) in the USA as of this morning.
- While this might come as a surprise, all the stuff you buy online, has to get to your wifes boyfriends basement somehow, and guess what, its on a truck
- As you can see from the colorful chart below, truckload volume dropped like a rock in 2022 (green line) and is starting off this year (dark blue line in bottom left) only slightly above 2019 (purple line) volume
- Yes, if you have half a brain you've figured it out, consumers' dollars are not going very far as their dollars buy less physical goods and they are simply buying less goods (lookout below Wayfair).
Don't expect things to get better until consumers start buying more crap, which right now they are NOT doing. Also yes, inflation is very slow compared to data like this, gonna be a rough first half of the year!
