Yeah can confirm that they light it up for the week of the Kennedy Center Honors which take place the evening of December 4th. Would've loved to go myself, but never heard back after signing up for general public tickets :(

lolol... This will be the 45th Honors celebration. The "rainbow" coloration was chosen to represent the full spectrum of the performing arts, so championed by President John F. and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
