Anyone else get charged for parking the car somewhere they didn’t park it? I disputed this via email at first, but they insisted i was the last one to use the car so it’s my charge. But I parked it in one quadrant and the ticket is in another. That means someone else drove it! I called them and had the CS person confirm the trip’s starting and end points, which match my story. But, they couldn’t address it themselves so they had to escalate it.

I ran into another issue a few months ago where I returned the car, and the app showed I’m done but then a few days later I got told they cannot find the car. I panicked and ran out to where I parked it a few blocks away and luckily it was there so I took photos. But this begs the question of what legal measures could/should one take to protect themselves? What if the car wasn’t there?

While I wait for them to resolve this, wondering if others ran into either issue and how you’ve handled it.

Never experienced anything like this, but please update when you get a resolution (or don’t). I have increasingly had problems with Free2Move and feel like their time in business is limited, and I suspect they will offer increasingly less support for issues like this as they go down.

I just had to contact customer support today about policy changes regarding gas credits. They're definitely downgrading the service offered and hoping people won't notice or have time to ask questions.

I have found tickets on or in the last 2-3 vehicles I used. I photograph and send them in so I have a record of the date/time/location of the ticket so I can protect myself from this potentially happening.

Two of the tickets I've sent in have been for expired vehicle tags, which is troubling because that should be extremely easy for them to track. Agree with the other poster that they might not be around for much longer.

Free2Move has become so dirty. I don’t ever recall their cars being as sticky, dirty, overall gross as it has been this past year. Also a lot more cars just smell like smoke. I’ve also noticed fewer cars on the map. We used to be within a five min walk of a car whenever we needed it and within the past few months, there are hardly any cars within a 15m walk of us.

I think what happened here is someone took the car after me. Maybe even illegally, and they are blaming me since they don’t have a record? I’m supposed to wait 5-7 days for a ‘personalized’ response but they had no problem immediately charging my card $70 for a ticket that isn’t my fault. Definitely done with them.

They’ve been disgusting that if I remember it , I had over with clorox wipes and microban. They’re generally out of washer fluid and have deflated tires all things I’ve repeatedly reported and addressed for the cars I’m in. I have a zipcar account too but generally F2M is closer and about 50 cheaper for a day rental but this has definitely sealed the deal for me, I’m done: I have to wait 5-7 for a personalized response, but closing my account after.

I agree with all your points, and adding to it a majority of the cars we get into, the screen is broken so there is no adjusting the media or anything. We have a Zipcar account too and are much happier with it BUT like you said, it’s miles cheaper for the same amount of time in a F2M. We are pretty done with F2M as well but just wished there were more options. We were big big fans of Car2Go and still sad that they left. It was generally a much better service and it was so easy to find a tiny parking spot to get into.

Overall the company is pretty terrible. One of the cars we were using refused to unlock, leaving my backpack inside and us stranded from the home zone by 30 miles. Customer service spent 30 minutes trying to unlock the car remotely to no avail. We had to use an Uber to get back, and then after they towed the Free2move car back, we then went to retrieve my backpack.

Poor customer service and only received partial credit for the Uber trip. Haven't used it since.

I remember when car2go came to dc and it was a great service, and as small as the cars were they were so easy to find parking spots.

Seemingly overnight all the cars started having issues. I’d get in one only for the passenger seat to be covered in chicken wing bones, or any number of other gross things.

It’s a shame but people are assholes.
