Unfortunately it's worse than it has to be and the lack of planning beyond the ships means they are having to stay on the ship longer. About half are in interior cabins which I believe most cruise ship people agree is suitable to sleep in and not to live in for months.

“floating refugee camps” – are being put in danger, amid reports of residents being quarantined with scarlet fever.
they were unable to open their windows due to the smell coming from a nearby waste facility and that they had faced difficulties getting their children to school.

Its these refugees who should be in hotels and the illegal immigrants crossing the channel in floating ships, preferably in the middle of the channel. Halve the ship in french waters, the other halve in british waters, until their asylum claims are processed, there is no war in france.

Temporary accommodation like this is better than nothing, but really, just give them residency and let them move wherever they like.
Or hell do that chartered cities thing and carve out a chunk of Scotland or elsewhere in the UK and let them build the city of New Ukraine, not much to lose and a ton to gain if it turns out anywhere as good as Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, etc
