Most people don't realize that the Atlantic rainforest in Brazil holds one of the highest numbers of endemic species in the Americas. It too is being destroyed at an alarming rate.

I'm not saying he won't do it, I mean that there is good politics and important stuff in doing for Brasil beyond just protecting the environment.

It is wealth for a handful of people only tho. Usually soulless corporations pumping out products people don't really need but use.

Murder sometimes brings wealth as well.

In capitalism there are far fewer "win-wins" than we are led to believe. Destroying the environment for personal gain may be the oldest path to wealth.

Actually, a lot of it is for soy plantations that will be used to feed animals all over the world. Soy needs a great amount of water so most countries are cutting on planting soy. Bolsonaro's administration saw this and tried to make a few bucks with it. Brazil is the largest producer of soy in the world currently.

I'm so glad Bolsonazi has been thrown out of power. His policies made deforestation much worse.

Random thought: does anyone know Amazon’s (company) contribution to deforestation of the Amazon (rainforest)?

Fuck the forests, burn them all down and make Air factories is what I say. Who needs trees? It's not like they help us breathe or anything.

You expect the US - who is the world's largest producer of oil and gas, and the world's second largest emitter of greenhouse gases - to go to war to be an environmental savior?
