Russia has been mining things left, right and centre. They'll mine all escape routes excluding one to Russia. They'll mine residential areas and homes they leave behind.

They are making sure that if they can't have it, neither can Ukraine.

Yes, there have been multiple reports of Russian mining the shit out of territory they retreat from. An incredibly horrible move that shows a complete disregard for human life.
