Wait what, so Bolsonaro’s kid married their first cousin?
machado34 t1_j6axpjo wrote
Not married, secret lover. Him and Carlos Bolsonaro have a long standing affair that's an open secret, but since homophobia is a big part of the Bolsonaro Family Brand, they've put a lot of effort concealing this in the past few year

You know whats even more hilarious? Their photos when they were together. All happy. But his family (and himself) are fucked up and now he probably has internal homophobia while most likely being gay
See the photos - its so obvious they had an affair LOL https://youtu.be/ytnhecnronA

I won’t be surprised if Brazil embarrasses the US by showing how quickly a failed insurrection attempt can be investigated and charges brought.

What a weird, alternate universe that’s happening between USA and Brazil. Brazil isn’t known for rooting out corruption, but they could really teach us how it’s done.

I agree that Brazil is doing this faster and in the swift manner that it deserves, however we have to acknowledge the major important difference here, the Jan 6 insurrection happened during the Trump presidency, and at the time the head of the DOJ was a republican who wanted to bury this, so they did a few arrests and then started playing dumb about finding all the offenders, not until way after Biden was sworn in, did the DOJ even start investigating the people who were there, as in the real culprits like the oath keepers and the proud boys, and finally finding each individual that was documented to have assaulted or broken into the capital, In Brazil they did the insurrection after Lula was already president, so when he came out and vowed a swift response, he was in charge already and his orders were right away effective.
What pisses me off about the American response us that they didn’t charge them with terrorism, all these people who attacked the capital were terrorists who were trying to use violence to intimidate and take power, I know if these people were Black, Arabs, or Muslims who did this , they would all have been shot down before stepping a foot on the steps of the capital let alone breaking into it and jumping over barricades only to nicely begin asked to leave.

It’s what happens when you elect an actual good leader after the corrupt ape instead of just going with the less evil choice.

You can do that? Just, like, have the police raid the house of someone suspected of trying to overthrow the government a mere couple of weeks after the incident?

> BRASILIA, Brazil - Brazil's federal police searched the home of a nephew of former President Jair Bolsonaro on Friday in connection with the Jan. 8 storming of government buildings in the capital by far-right protesters.
> Police said Leonardo Rodrigues de Jesus, known by Bolsonaro supporters as Leo Índio, was one of the targets of a series of raids that led to 11 arrests in different states.
> Carlos Bolsonaro is the head of the former president's digital operations and a key member of Bolsonaro's failed reelection bid.
