Reply to comment by Munchies4Crunchies in Europe to commit billions to 'space race' by nastratin
Countries are perfectly capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time, and it would be a bit odd for Europe to just give up on the future of space because there's issues on earth. In 50 years, space industry will be massive, and I don't think European leaders want to just surrender that future to China and private American companies.

Over 6 million deaths during this pandemic has certainly not improved my opinion of the antivax crowd. Their feelings is way down there on my priority list.

They all know what the future looks like, which is why you've seen such a push to make Dubai a tourist destination, and all the latest Saudi kings have tried building new cities with economies not centered on oil. Let's check back in a bit and see if they were able to get away with a transformation or if their autocratic societies will collapse as global warming makes the region entirely uninhabitable.
