Idk about this guy, but I'm here to complain about how there are flatlanders buying up houses in Maine while Mainers are living in campers on old logging roads

I got the Gratwick book, Hidden History. The Battle of Machias is pretty entertaining. A bunch of hungry Irish Mainers doing some pirate stuff against the British. Neat

Yeah. I grew up in a small farming town, and the farmers are obscenely rich, although conspicuos consumption is low. They all own multimillion dollar lake houses that they call "camps". Old money runs the town. In high school, farmers' kids get preferential treatment. Skilled workers with generational wealth have a lot of pull, too. Last names are very important.

The relationship between the Catholics and the KKK is bizarre. Half the time, Catholics are running the Klan out of town.

I have not. This is my first foray into Maine history, and I appreciate the suggestion

I lived in Tahoe. It was cheap when i moved there. AirBnB destroyed the rental market. I'm sure there were other factors, but AirBnB is a cancer
