A lot of typewriter conventions come from typesetting conventions. People used quotation marks instead of italics while using a typewriter precisely because it was commonly done in typesetting too.

Also I think the number of boomers using word processing programs in the 70s and 80s was probably very small. Maybe an actual one can weigh in but my my dad was born in 1947 and we had computers really early, but he still used his typewriter for most writing and we didn’t get a word processing program until the 90s.

I'm really curious about this. My family is all fully vaxxed and we have occasionally had mild cold-like symptoms and always test negative on the home tests. The symptoms go away in a day or two so it hasn't seemed worth going to the doctor. I really wonder if we have been infected and just don't know it.

I always say Maine is a small town. LOL

I really wonder how they ended up where they did. The warden said they had been on an ITS trail but the trail made a 90 degree turn and kept going on a logging trail, and they were found on the logging trail. I'm not familiar with that area at all, but I'm guessing it's hard to tell what road is what under the snow?

I’m guessing that they are able to navigate around their home but don’t go out of town regularly. I live in Topsham and get confused whenever I go to the Maine mall! 😅 I imagine that maybe she has had some cognitive decline since she got her license. Being under stress, maybe not eating or being dehydrated, all of that can make someone even more impaired than usual.
