New Jersey is incredibly densely populated, and counts among its residents many Brazilian immigrants, who have opened innumerable barbecue joints all over the state. These restaurants range from small hole in the wall type establishments to exquisitely fancy and expensive. The Ironbound Neighborhood, in Newark, is the most common landing spot for Brazilian and Portuguese immigrants, and is thusly home to a very high concentration of these establishments.

22 is pretty awful, especially around union. 1&9 are miserable as well. However, the wretched tangle of roads surrounding newark airport is probably my least favorite place to drive in the state. Depending on the time of day, route 24 can suck pretty hard.
