Every jail or prison guard is a failed cop, too fucking stupid or egomaniacal or sadistic for even the Band of Bastards to give them a chance.

I've been downvoted to hell every time I've stated this FACT. No one ever hears about guards betting on prison fights. Or starving inmates, feeding them nutriloaf for a week because they have the audacity to have an opinion. No one ever hears about the "accidents" that happen when somehow, six guards bump into an inmate in a blind spot.

I lived that shit for a year, and I'll die on this hill. If all cops are bastards, all prison guards are so much worse, that I don't even have a fucking word for them, and I like to think I'm a pretty articulate guy. But no one asks questions because Americans believe inmates are less than human.

With a name like that, how have there not been some brave souls that looked at it and said "bet"?
