That was proposed waaaay back in the 90's and the hotel owners scoffed at it. Wanted no part in it.

You can't force folks to participate in a program like that if they don't want to. Of course, they want to sell them now, 25 years later when they're dilapidated and disgusting. Those places should be condemned and taken over by the state then they can raze them or renovate them into compliance.

I'm a native Vermonter and I haven't set foot on Vermont soil since July of 1998.

My heart breaks a little bit more every day as I realize the odds of me ever being able to live in Vermont again are slim to none. It sucks.

Outrageous Outsider thinks he's hurtin' somebody by calling them stupid childish names.

He's just a dude with a need to kill living things.

I don't kill what I don't eat. Hence, I don't hunt deer. I will hunt squirrels (a real invasive and damaging animal), rabbits, and wild game birds but I'd never shoot a coyote just because it was there. Even the ones around my farm. I've never had them get close enough to the house to worry about them. None of my cattle raising neighbors have had any of their livestock bothered by them.

Folks like that Outsider dude shouldn't be allowed to hunt in Vermont, or anywhere really.

What is the problem is that there are no natural predators for the deer up there in Vermont/New England anymore. Sure there's a few coyotes, bear and wildcats, but they only take young, weak and/or sick animals, not full-grown healthy animals.

And Vermont's so overpopulated with people now, that it's impossible to even consider reintroducing larger predators like wolves into the state...

What's going to happen is that a major disease is going to strike the deer herds and it's going to wipe them out. That's what happens when herding animals get overpopulated. They starve or they get diseased. But I'm sure all you hunters will fix everything for us.

Well, I'm lucky in that I'm retired and don't have to be out amongst the 'natives' too much. I encounter them when I go grocery shopping or whatever, but rarely otherwise. We have six acres out here in the Boonies with no neighbors to speak of so I've been enjoying it.

You have to understand that I spent 32 years living in southeast Pit Of Life, I mean Alabama (off and on) so compared to that shithole state/area--Kentucky is a paradise. At least there's no fire ants and I can garden and enjoy the outside and gardening. I couldn't do that down in hell, I mean Alabama.

I am a native Vermonter who lives in central Kentucky (because Vt is ridiculously expensive and I can't afford it)...my Amish neighbors make delicious maple syrup every spring. It's almost as good as Vermont's, but I'm lucky I have a friend up there who sends me some every couple of years. I still have half of a gallon left that he sent me in 2019!
