You can run applications in compatibility mode for older versions of windows. So what's the issue?

Yeah you barely scratched the surface, you essentially stopped before finishing the tutorial.

Mine is the opposite, Oblivion is my most played game of all time. Skyrim has some hours only because I beat it once through on 360 the first week of release, then never touched it again.

I tried to get into D2 because my friend wanted me to play and I just can not do it. Might be the worst new player experience I've ever had. They don't explain any of the story or setting so when I went to do a dungeon (or whatever it's called in D2) I had no idea what anything was, why I was there, who the enemies were, or my characters purpose for being there.
