I really like this building from the exterior. I wish it was better maintained and the entire area more welcoming to the public. But because of post-9/11 and -1/6/21 security issues government buildings no longer feel like public spaces.

What about case managers or social workers with a strong knowledge of housing law? When moving out of my last place, my landlord asked if I was a lawyer based on the email I wrote.

1. GET THE CAR BACK. If your parents have the title, they should be a able to pick it up. Bring the doc and call the police if you have to. For now work out a payment plan with the mechanic. Ask for receipts for all work. This doesn't sound like a trustworthy mechanic.

The only other tip I would have is to finance a car and keep in touch with prior landlords. These histories of paying big bills on time every month make it a lot easier to get a mortgage.

Just make sure that your income and investments keep growing faster than the cost of housing in the more expensive markets in the U.S. It sounds like you are living an amazing life right now but if it doesn't work for you (or a future partner) in 5 years you want to make sure that you can afford to rent a decent place or buy a place in one of your favorite cities in the U.S. with decent job prospects.
