Great, I’m going to be hearing this in my head for the next two days. “RACEWAY PARK, ENGLISHTOWN, NEW JERSEY!!!!!!”
(And then there’s Englishtown’s OTHER great landmark, the Auction, but that didn’t have a memorable commercial on WABC, 99X, or New York’s Best Rock, WPLJ!)

Reminds me of when I went to college in Hackettstown. We’d be buried in snow and I’d call my mother in Monmouth County and be told, “What snow? We have pouring rain here!”

I’d love to see this design revived with modern building materials. There’s something wonderfully cheesy about it’s retro-future aesthetic.

The Holy Trinity of ‘70s/‘80s discount shopping: Two Guys, Grants and Bradlees! And then Kmart started making inroads, Blue Light Specials and all . . .

It would be awesome if they could pair that with an Asian market so I don’t have to drive all the way from Wall to Marlboro for my fix of ham-and-egg rolls and meat buns.

That parking lot is HIDEOUS. I have to take my mother to the dentist there and I’ve almost broken an axle several times.

Texas, you produced Ted Cruz. Your argument is invalid.

Well, Sinatra WAS considered the first teen idol, so this comment is very accurate! (There’s an old Looney Tune where a barnyard of chickens are screaming and fainting over a Sinatra rooster).

It’s not a bad idea in theory . . . but it wouldn’t work in practice. The number of months when it’s cold in this state doesn’t justify the price tag. It can be difficult to find a place to walk in the winter, but you can find solutions if you get creative. If you don’t have a mall nearby, you can even walk laps around a larger grocery store or big-box store.

I remember before it happened, a lot of people weren’t concerned - Irene had been preceded by forecasts of gloom and doom, and it arrived at the Jersey Shore as just a rainstorm. And then, the day before it hit, I decided to drive down to Spring Lake to see what the waves looked like. The ocean was turbulent in a way I couldn’t remember seeing before - it was truly an angry sea. Coupled with the fact that the wind was already strong on the beachfront, I suddenly knew the worst case scenarios were going to play out - this thing was a monster.

Came here to say this! It just keeps GOING and GOING and GOING! You can find some great older and hard-to-find stuff, especially.
