Why would this be downvoted? Weird.

And if it's not weirdly limited to soundtracks, then you've got Jennifer Higdon, Kaija Saariaho, Unsuk Chin ...

So the "greats" are all film composers?
Weird, but even if you're limiting it that way, how about Hildur Guðnadóttir?

No, I find it weird, nonsensical, and pretty good.

Heavily *over-*produced. :)

She was heavily influenced by prog rock, but I suppose it's a matter of debate whether or not to call her that.
One way or another, I wouldn't make song length the deciding factor. Her songs may not have been typically long, but half of Hounds of Love is one song cycle.

The best album before then was probably something like Edison saying "Is this thing working?"

Get a pair of headphones to practise with, and every time — every time — he interrupts you tell him to fuck off and let you practise.
Edit: I just realized you could play acoustic, and my headphone suggestion wouldn't be helpful. But do the rest anyway.

Nobody said he was. At all.
OP denies being anti-Semitic because he just wrote a post about continuing to listen to the music of an *anti-*Semite. Try to keep up.

There are plenty. Sure, the canon is full of males, but that's just a function of the canon itself.
