We studied that in my cultural anthropology class a gazillion years ago (I'm old). I remember them showing us hidden skulls in ice cubes for whisky magazine ads... supposedly the implied danger would increase sales.

With the usual caveat of a grain of salt to accompany advice from an internet stranger, have you been tested for the MTHFR genetic issue with methylation of folates? It can result in drug-resistant depression but is in itself treatable with supplements. I only suggest it because "lifelong" depression is a flag; my son and I both have it. Feel free to totally ignore this info.

I took my phone into my adult son's room to share why I was laughing so hard I scared the cats. I had him laughing as well. So great. So many golden comments.

Thank you, OP, for setting off this solid gold thread. It's been months since I laughed until I cried. So freaking cathartic. 🤣

Please consider donating to the nearest women's shelter. Victims of domestic abuse frequently leave with only the clothes on their backs. They need everything. And women come in all shapes and sizes.

Most cats (all sizes) like pumpkin. We give pumpkin puree as an occasional treat at the (domestic cat) shelter where I volunteer. Vets will recommend it to help cats with digestive issues too-- it's one of the best fibers for beneficial gut bacteria.

This is my immediate thought as well. So many "pilgrimage" sites seem to turn out to be market centers later on.
