I love Longwood! I miss the days where I only lived a short drive away.

Pretty much. I grew up hopping the border of PA and NJ and settled here in Lehigh County. I also worked for a warehouse at one point. Oh boy.

It’s a really racist and xenophobic area. It’s become marginally better, but growing up there in the 90’s was really tough.

Sorry to hear that. Admittedly, I have no love for that small town.

Nice! Ambler is a cute little area. I’ve passed through it countless times but I’ve never actually had the chance to walk around.

I would say lehigh valley area (Easton, Bethlehem, Allentown). I used to commute from that area into New Jersey for quite some time. Additionally, maybe the Stroudsburg area.

Depends on where you live. I actually live in PA now, but grew up in Jersey. I live in the Lehigh Valley and rent prices here rival that of New York. One bedroom apartments here are going for around $1,500-$2,000 depending on where you live. Prices are really climbing quickly. Housing prices are also skyrocketing.
My uncle purchased a two bedroom home for $75,000 back in 2012 and now that same home is valued around $250,000. Needless to say he’s thinking about selling and moving somewhere else.

Depends on where you live. Some areas of Allentown are…interesting. From experience, the Cedar Crest and Tilghman Street sections are pretty nice areas. There are plenty of shopping centers and places to go. Allentown has a lot around it and it has been really developed over the years. I’d say the Cedar Crest area is quite safe and relatively nice. If you’re looking to live outside the city, the areas of Lower Macungie and Emmaus are not bad areas. There’s not much there compared to Allentown, but it’s certainly “safe,” in my opinion.
Additionally, if you are okay with commuting, Bethlehem is always a great option. I currently live in Bethlehem and I love it here. Bethlehem has a ton of restaurants, historical sites, parks, shopping centers, and is smack dabbed next to Allentown. The North and West side are certainly safe areas and right off route 22, the highway that brings you right through Allentown.
