Thanks! The James River Park System sounds amazing. When I lived in Charlotte there were a ton of green spaces nearby where I could walk my dog or take pictures and I definitely miss that.

I had not considered Virginia Beach. I’ll have to look into that.

Yes! My office is in DC and I’ll need to go in every once in a while for meetings and to check on things.

Good to know! Dating isn’t a huge priority for me now but I imagine I’ll want to get back into the swing of things at some point.

Thanks! This is really helpful. I love the wineries near Charlottesville but you’re right, you definitely have to drive to them. I’m glad to hear that Richmond is walkable. I miss living somewhere walkable.

Reply to Can we lose that "Outside Dining" that takes up all the parking area across the district?! by eablacksmith
I agree that, as someone with a car, it’s very inconvenient. However, these areas aren’t trying to cater to people with cars at this point. They’re trying to encourage public transit, walking, etc. It’s cool but I’m not interested in driving in circles for an hour so I don’t go into the city. I barely even go into Arlington and Alexandria. I moved out to Fairfax and there are more than enough restaurants, etc. further in NOVA to keep me occupied. I’m not about to stress myself out over parking. Highly suggest anyone else who hates the parking issues does the same.

I’ve spent years volunteering with DC juvenile detention and this is so accurate. Also, the amount of girls in detention because an adult man involved them in something or convinced them to take the fall is heartbreaking.
