I wonder if its got anything to do with eyes? "Locked-In Syndrome" seems to be "Locked-in syndrome is a rare neurological disorder characterized by complete paralysis of voluntary muscles in all parts of the body except for those that control eye movement" (google search), and given how everything is related to his eyes/vision...

Maybe look around and see if theres any archives of it on https://archive.org/web/ ? Maybe see if there was any changes the days before it shutdown, and idk. Check your computer for stuff like trackers or anything weird?

Oh also, if they are aware I'd be worried about the company overriding the coworker that gave your mom permission to keep you, so maybe stay low and all so if they have people watching you they have less proof you'll go rogue. Also, any chance the cameras were installed due to company requirement so they can monitor you?

So it seems from the recording that your mom at least cares about you to some extent, probably more than a lab project. However her parenting methods are definitely abusive, probably in part to prepare you for when you show others your "tricks". I'd suggest you don't tell or ask about these unless she tells you about all the information, since she could get mad you were snooping.

I'd suggest you ask your mom what you can and can't show other kids (mostly so you don't get grounded again for that)

You said you want to help the kids who are locked up, and while that is great I'm worried they'll be jealous of you and turn against you potentially, and the logistics.

Maybe talk to your mom? Try to have an open ended conversation, but don't make it only about your abilities/the past. Maybe ask why other kids are different when she's in a good mood, or if you have a school project about family history that could be a good way if you were like, "Hey mom this school project wants to know x" such as your fathers name, etc.

But stay safe! Maybe take a break from snooping if you ever think she suspects something and just in general.

edit: Also do you know if the coworker that let your mom keep you got permission or if they just agreed to let your mom get away with it?
