A lot of y’all don’t know but we had sushi back in East Texas way back when I was a kid in the 1950s. Only we called it bait.

Used to be a dude in Galveston who’d ride from the Strand, where he lived, to the beach, wearing just a speedo. He wasn’t naked but he might as well have been. We all thought of it as local color.

He certainly palled around with them, and he supported Franco. But that shouldn’t be considered in evaluating his art. Ezra pound was a fascist but also a brilliant poet. Once we start considering an artist’s personal life or politics in evaluating the worth of their art there’s no stopping. We’d have to toss out everybody from Gauguin to Hemingway. I personally believe Dali’s painting to be laboriously over-dramatic, over-rated and a bit cornball, but not because of his politics.

Know the difference between a cowgirl and a girl cow ? A girl cow can stick its tongue up either of its nostrils, and a cowgirl can’t…but it’s fun to watch one of ’em get drunk and try.

In 1937 a dollar was worth about $20 today, so 15 cents would be about $3 .
