It was consistent and frequent, yes. Generally, better headways than I’ve experienced in New York - but both systems are huge so it’s hard to draw any conclusions based on my experience. I know at least some Paris metro lines do have more frequent service than some (all?) subway lines.
Paris metro was generally more disgusting than the subway, though, which was a surprise to me.

I was just in Paris, and multiple times, the metro train I was on was literally from the 1960s-1970s. And you could tell.

It might happen. But it will require truly human-like AI. A kind of AI that could also practice medicine or software engineering, or pretty much any professional work.
I hope we get there. It would be a triumph of humanity if people no longer “need” to work. The challenge is ensuring the benefits of the technology are equally distributed in society.

People who think this current generation of AI threatens attorneys’ jobs don’t understand what attorneys do.

Non-lawyers can represent themselves. They can’t represent others.
Using AI while in court might be issue. I don’t think most judges would let people search for arguments on Google during oral argument either.

True, but the oldest GPS satellite that is still operational was launched in 1997.

It really isn’t. We have enough resources to sustain the population. They just aren’t distributed equitably.

Despite Ukraine’s better-than-expected performance in the war, it is still notable that Ukraine can successfully strike hundreds of miles within Russian territory.

Nah, inherited generational wealth shouldn’t be immune from taxes. Just like unearned investment income shouldn’t be taxed at lower rates than earned income.
It sounds like you just hate the government.

If he lives in the US, he did get a payout, in a sense, because the government ultimately answers to elected legislators.

How exactly is it bullshit? I don’t understand your perspective at all.

Reply to comment by worldofoysters in TIL the term "death row" comes from an assassination attempt on FDR. The shooter Giuseppe Zangara was sentenced to death, but there was already a convict awaiting execution, and FL law forbade them from sharing cells. A second cell was built, turning the "death cell" into the first "death row." by AdmiralAkbar1
He had an undiagnosed condition that caused stomach pain, which started years before the assassination attempt, but got worse over time. The guy hated capitalism and decided to blame his sickness on capitalism/kill a politician who he thought stood for capitalism.
The guy was probably severely mentally ill but it’s a bit different than how you portray it.
