Without reading the article, if things really are worse then you think, it’s not pessimism to say they are worse. It’s pessimism to expect the worst without complete data or to expect the worst based on ambiguous or incomplete information.

Edit: I bet the reason not having eyes is so scary to us is because decomposing corpses often don’t have eyes

To all of the people pointing out toxic positivity, I HATE toxic positivity, but not all positivity is toxic.
Like, you do know that in general being positive is a good thing right? It only gets toxic when you refuse to a knowledge reality or feel negative feelings.
