I know this is an iPhone subreddit; but you asked for the longest-lasting phone. My longest lasting phone was not an iPhone. It was a Samsung Note 3 which lasted 4.25 years.

The referenced Australia law, which the Canadian law mimics, requires paying the news sources a fee. What FB, Google, et al are doing contributes to a loss of revenue from advertisers. Having to click on a link, which is voluntary, is not the same as having ads staring the readers in the face. If it was, you would not be seeing sources requiring a subscription, some trying to entice with a limited number of freebies, others to read even one. Printed editions have demonstrably thinner because of this revenue loss. In the meantime, FB, Google, etc. are benefitting from others’ labors without compensating. This did not begin with FB and Google..They have made it worse.

So Meta is throwing a hissy fit.
It should have done the adult thing and asked to be included, as Google did.
It can negotiate with news outlets, just as it did after the Australian law took effect.

The concept for the 14 Plus is nice: an iPhone for those want one with a larger screen, but don’t want / don’t have finances to buy a PM. Apple released the 14s in two sets. The Plus was released with the second set. If it is still having disappointing sales, I see 2 possible reasons: the timing of its release (the second set) and/or a too-small niche market. If Apple should come out with a 15 Plus, it should come out with the first set of 15s to see if timing of the 14 Plus’s release was a factor. Otherwise, why bother?
