Why is everyone here blaming Wimbledon? Comparing them to IOC etc? Saying they took a bribe or something. The AEC (owners of Wimbledon) and the LTA (Queens Club etc) were the only tennis associations to ban Russian players and were punished by the ATP and threatened with expulsion. ATP are the ones who would need to impose a ban if it was going to happen otherwise we're talking about 2 weeks of the tour they couldn't play.

My reading list was getting wildly out of hand, so I have to curate fairly aggressively. These days it's a running list of about 100 books and each new year I choose 25 books from it which keeps me going until the next year.

I write little summaries of each reading session, key plot and character developments and my thoughts on them. When I need to refresh, say because a sequel comes out a year later, I reread my notes.

Doesnt need to be long or expansive, a short paragraph or two every time you put the book down will do it.

Its kind of a tool of necessity isn't it though? The whole point of Godel's second incompleteness theorem was showing a system can never prove its own consistency. You'd need an "outside" system to analyse logic. Since no one has conceived of a way to do that (and on the face of it is impossible and would anyway just result questioning the consistency of that system), you just have to kind of shrug and get on with it, using what we have. Not very satisfying, but here we are.

I don't know what I wanted to see from this thread, but apparent this was it!

I am happy you have (delete as applicable): fallen in love with reading (again?) / trying something new this year / found your genre / found a better life balance / found solace in books in a bad time / enjoying reading now you're in a good space / recently been given a lot of books

Tried to cover my bases, but I'm sure I'm wrong anyway. XD life's just like that.

I'm in a reading slump this year as work/life balance has been terrible. I'm optimistic about next year though.

Anyway, happy reading!
