The last thing you want, is release a game when people go “what game was that? Never heard of it? Did anyone know it was released?”

While Hi-Fi Rush managed it, you cannot guarantee it will for other games. When you invest so much into a AAA game, the last thing you want is marketing to fail you.

Marketing works, while many people criticise the game etc, it doesn’t matter as long as it achieve its sales target.

Stealth release, many people may not know of it, while you get less criticism, it is meaningless if sales target not reached.

Firstly, there are more than one route to all objectives.

Secondly, there are things you can use such as flash bang when go around well known sniping corners.

Thirdly, you don’t have to peak around corner especially if you know someone is there, do a side step while jumping out into the corner and ready to shoot back.

Counter Strike is not really a “run and gun” game like CoD is, you can implement a lot more tactics into it to make up for the lack of reflex.

Still there are people prefer the physical version even though it acts more like a key.

So physical version are not really going away.

I actually think the Disc version of the PS5 is selling better than the Digital only one.

No, just your games really.

Street Fighter or Tekken goes off with monetisation? Nope.

The Last of Us, Elden Ring, Horizon, other story games filled with monetisation? Nope.

Mario, Zelda, Kirby, It Takes Two? Nope.

Games that are heavily monetised?

FPS such as CoD, racing games such as GT, sports games such as FIFA, just these really, and I guess these are all the games you play.

Because you play FPS or sport games which are the easiest to monetise.

Games with competitive nature, people generally are willing to spend to get an advantage, therefore it is easy to monetise.

Play some single player games or games like Elden Ring then suddenly there isn’t much monetisation anymore.

Basically it is mostly just the genre that you are into.
