The store I work at averages around 110-150 transactions on a normal to busy day. Today we went to 212. Friday and Saturday were also notably busy. People were impatient, snarky, and downright rude at times. I'm glad I've been given the day off tomorrow because I'm not sure I could handle any more of that, even after having Sunday off lol

I think if it's escalated to the point where police or government entities need to be involved anyway, there's a deeper issue where the subject may have come up anyway. Personally, if I was being erratic and had a gun, I'd hope that the police would inform those around me that I was erratic and owned a gun. As far as I know, there's no privacy law that prevents that from happening. We live in an age where privacy is becoming an increasingly rare commodity whether we like it or not, trust is the same way. Obviously, if you have a neighbor acting dangerously, that's a problem and concern is wise, but holding everyone to the same strict rules is, in my humble opinion, a bad idea.

No it shouldn't be. Many weapons, especially antique ones, are valuable. A list of weapons and who owns them would make them targets for thieves. On top of that, it's nobodies business. My Uncle, an avid gun supporter and user, has a wonderful, well kept home in a quiet neighborhood and you'd never know he has guns unless you went into his basement and saw the gun safe. 95 percent or more of gun owners are like this.

True and as I've had pointed out to me in the past, people could move to a smaller town. But there should be a medium of coexisting with the college and the town retaining some autonomy and levels of small-townedness. I think it adds to the draw and charm of UConn to be such a good school that is also in a small town.

UConn is a great institution that has good programs and provides high quality education to it's students. That said, it's incredibly frustrating living in the town of Mansfield and watch UConn piss money away and watch buildings that they wanted built constantly have to pull new business tenants because rents are so high. It's frustrating watching them throw their weight around the town like they own it with little regard for people who live here. Traffic is awful around campus, the drivers are pretty bad, and to top it all off, the college barely spends money with business in town. UConn should think about trimming its own budget before complaining it doesn't get enough money. Tuition is pretty insane over there already.
