Not in the form of a hospital, and not sure how much longer as it is. This whole area is suffering from the lack of “good food” except Teresa’s. Actually not sure if Debbie Wong was “good food “ tbh but it did add some diversity to burgers, pizza and subs…

This area is known for hard, iron rich water.

A big part of the issue is that the road was originally paved with concrete. Since then the area has grown exponentially. I remember a time when the Showcase Theater was there almost by it itself and there was very little development on the northbound side of rt 5. Anyhow concrete and asphalt don’t play well together, the reality is that the concrete should be torn up and replaced with asphalt, the other part of the problem is that the infrastructure beneath the road is failing ( same as many other areas) so the road is always getting torn up.

If it was truly a Big dig relic, it cost a $100 to make but it was probably sold for a dollar, then the taxpayers picked the rest!

Reply to Monthly Electricity Bill Is Killing Me by haitiandev
Switch your supplier. Cut my supply rate nearly 50%. Not perfect but every little bit helps. Turn off light’s when you’re not using them etc. Some heat pumps aren’t very efficient as temperatures drop, and they will work hard to reach the desired temperature. I shut mine off at the end of November and I will just the oil until March/April.

Thanks, just got the minis installed in October wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of usage, so November was an experiment, the fact that the minis can provide heat was not the initial intent for installing them. I was expecting to use them for late fall and early spring for warm ups. Another factor in the electric bill was the added fees for supporting electric cars and a few other things that are percentages of the electricity charge which I feel are totally ridiculous and don’t feel that I should be paying for ( but can’t opt out of).

If you’re not paying a decent rate per kw/h you’re going to pay a lot for electricity. Just did something similar with Mitsubishi’s ended up paying over $500 (NGrid pricing) for 4 weeks of service. At these current temps I feel like the efficiency has dropped off. Currently (no pun intended) researching alternative electric suppliers for the coming months but will likely be using the oil as sparingly as possible with lowered set temps and using my fireplace. Bought wood last spring long before that went up too.

Reply to PSA re: the MassPike: The Left lane is for *passing*. If you aren’t passing? Stay in the Right lane. Please. Thank you. by mrsnrub77
Can confirm NYers! But as said if you’re going 85, you’re still going to have to wait for me to pass the ass-draggers that can’t be bothered to at least drive 65 in any lane. So many spots are only two lanes and sometimes it’s slow and slower. I used to commute IC 8 and 6 and by the end of 17 years my blood pressure was just out of control. Thankfully it’s a thing of the past.

Just added a 4 head Mitsubishi hyper system, keeping the oil for extreme cold, impressed so far, holding judgment until the electric bill comes in. Quiet and unobtrusive! Having some insulation work done as well as some new windows installed. Hate that oil is outrageously priced rn.
