Not defending this guy, but there actually isn't a lot of evidence for the part about the executioners being dressed as Santas.
Public executions were a real thing under Nguema, and he did have over a hundred executed on Christmas Eve 1969, but the Santa suits is something I need to see actual fact-checked information on.
Of the two sources cited on Wikipedia for this awful event, one mentions the Santa costume thing as likely unfounded. The other makes no mention of Santa costumes.
