Yeah it's a really good movie (with a few story twists that I thought were pretty stupid, like Crowe somehow surviving his shooting), but I never cared much for Basinger's performance either. She's completely fine, but nothing Oscar-worthy for me. Just another member of a good ensemble.

I think Bay film compare more to Piranha II.

A Beautiful Mind is one of the worst. Barely anything that happens in the film seemed to be actually true.

And it bothers me when "true" stories have to create a villain, or turn a real life person into one, just to have some dramatic stakes...Imitation Game, Titanic, Cinderella Man...

I thought Tree Of Life was great, as was Malick's previous films...but since then, I've become frustrated with his rambling, stream-of-consciousness voice overs and shots of people wandering around in fields and looking at skies. That's all he has left in his tank, and stuff like To The Wonder, Knight Of Cups, and Song To Song are just gorgeous looking empty packages.

I 'd still kill to see a full cut of Thin Red Line though!

yeah that probably is his best film! Either that or Moana.

Yeah pretty bad film but Johnson is the highlight.

Yeah, that's easily his best film.
