I mean yeah, we need to remove evil and sadistic desires from human psychology, part of the point of becoming transhuman.

Are you saying it should be that way or it is that way? Obviously if it was implemented right now then you’re right.

What’s democratic is everyone gets to make their own choice, about death and everything else. Of course it’s bad for just rich people to not age, but that’s not what anyone is advocating for.

Shove your authoritarian attitude up your ass. You don’t have the right to impose your moral values on other people.

Well I don’t necessarily agree with all your conclusions but it’s pretty speculative so who knows. I don’t think anyone here could predict how things will play out technologically and socially past the next few years honestly.

I mean if you’re gonna have that attitude, you might as well apply that to everything in this sub. Sexbots are almost certainly one of the easiest innovations to achieve, and they sort of already exist except for having really primitive AI systems. I guess if you want to speculate about global catastrophes then who knows what will happen but that could apply to anything, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make predictions. Also this may be a bit politically incorrect but I think the main reason most men don’t want to date a trans woman is because of them not passing well enough, in a fully transhumanist world where people could look indistinguishable from the opposite sex of their birth sex, I don’t think almost anyone would have an issue dating a trans person.

Well I’ve been following it pretty closely, it’s one of the things I’m more bullish on. I wasn’t sure how long it would take before GPT-4 but at this point I don’t think it’s actually a huge leap since we already have chatbots and robot dolls, we mostly just need to combine the two. As for why a lot of men will want them (idk about women but probably a decent portion of women too), just watch some MGTOW videos.

Sure, I love myself and would be happy to date an opposite sex me. If you don’t love yourself enough that you feel the need for someone else to complete you, that’s your own issue.

No not really. I’m sure the reasons will be different depending on the person, but for me personally it’s because men and women’s personalities are on average pretty different in certain respects (this is not a sexist statement, it is simply a judgement free fact of human evolution), and as an autistic guy my personality is skewed in the especially masculine direction. I have had a couple short term relationships with autistic women and I’m not completely opposed to dating a person under the right circumstances but for the time being the robo girlfriend option seems like an easier and more fulfilling choice. I think right now it still seems like a weirdo thing just cause it’s such a new concept, but eventually it will become something that even “normies” are interested in.

What makes you think a real girlfriend is actually more desirable? It sounds like you are projecting your preferences on other people.

Well that will have to be negotiated by society. Ultimately we are trying to move past capitalism, right?

Isn't the whole point that we want to move beyond a society where people have jobs?

Again you're not responding to the points being made in the post. Also, it could easily exist by like 2050, we really don't know.

If biological immortality becomes possible, it will be more cost efficient to simply make it more widely available than to kill off massive numbers of people who will undoubtedly fight back (and as mentioned before it would lead to a civil war among the rich as well). You didn't address most of the other points though, whether the poor could theoretically be killed or not isn't really relevant.

Well do you have counterarguments? Perhaps many people disagreed but simply didn’t know how to refute the points.

Who cares if people stop breeding? All we need to do is invent longevity medicine and we can perpetuate human civilization with the humans alive now, no inherent reason for spawning more babies.

I feel like there aspects of humanity that are wonderful and worth loving, but they’re just heavily overshadowed by the bad stuff. It’s like listening to a concert but there’s earsplitting static being played over it, yeah it might still be good music but it kind of ruins the overall experience.

It’s not a matter of taking pity, it will just be the safest option and there won’t really be much of an incentive not to. In the long run they would be forced to give up power though if technology became more decentralized.

There’s no incentive and most rich people are not psychopaths, even if they somehow managed to accumulate all that power with no one else challenging them most of them wouldn’t suddenly decide to become comic book supervillains.

Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s the idea that Trump’s presidency was the worst thing that’s ever happened in the world. The reality is he was a bad president but people make it into a way bigger deal than it actually was.

I mean it will probably happen at some point regardless of whether or not we are ready, most likely not in the near future though so we have time to prepare. The idea of transhumanist philosophy is humans are more or less perfectable so if you don’t believe that then I can see why you would be scared of the direction things are going in.
