Where does the blood go then? Wont the heart just keep pumping blood into that now closed system, increasing the pressure?

Its not really due to a speed requirement, but the curvature of spacetime. Black holes bend spacetime so much that any path sort of wraps around back to the singularity.

Wait, why is it that it can never be greater than escape velocity? If theyre falling towards the earth then surely thats not an issue as they would hit the planet not escape

Right, but what happens to the blood still in the vessel? Does it just dry up?
