This sounds as though it is a mechanism existing within all of us, meaning there should be high correlation between excessive fructose consumption and Alzheimers. I don't know if there is. Did they find something in people with Alzheimers like hyperactivity of the fructose foraging response? A higher level of a protein involved in it? Mind you I did not actually read the article

You are overreacting. Highly flamable stuff is things like ether, propanol, hydrogen. Even gasoline doesn't ignite when you throw a sigarette butt at it. Grease soaked coffee filters are way down the line.

As far as I know 10 Amp outlets should not be on a 16 Amp breaker because failure mode for drawing too much current is in the outlet or maybe even wiring. So the breaker is then useless. Its a fire hazard. Consider talking to an electrician.

It's up to you to not buy from those companies though.

Lightly sand a bit, then remove all dust and degrease with ammonia or something and then spraypaint with acrylic or alkyd laquer. Like a spray paint can. They come in many colours and can give a very even satisfying result, much better than painting with a brush or roller. I would go for matt or satin look, but maybe you like shiny, then go for it. Use thin layers and try to not stay on one spot, always keep moving the can. Usually you can apply multiple layers pretty fast with spray cans.
Unless you want to keep the wood look.
edit: I wanted to add: disassemble the parts you want to paint and let the paint harden before you reassemble. multiple days.
